Ok, so a couple times during the “Making Sense of Church” series we talked about how we’d like ALL of you to spend time with other Christians outside of our Sunday morning meeting. We also mentioned that we thought it would be good if SOME of you started up some meetings (perhaps in your homes) to help facilitate these kinds of relationships. This month, I figured I’d take it a step further by giving you these 12 tips for hosting a small group.

Over the years, I have heard many church people (both youth group kids and regular church adults) say things like, “I wish I were more involved with the people of this church, you know, like really feeling like I belong.” Comments like these serve to underscore the importance of acceptance in relationships. We all want people to stop thinking about themselves and their own needs, and instead to reach out to us.

I am so thankful that our church has a great ministry like KidZone! I am glad that there are infants being held, toddlers being played with, and elementary-aged kids getting taught Bible stories and gluing cotton balls onto paper sheep! And I am especially thankful for all the people who volunteer to make this ministry work.
