I am pleased to announce the release of my first book, “Working Our Way through Life.” This book is based on the teachings that I did at church back at the beginning of 2019. It is a short devotional (only 50 pages; what an easy read!) covering twenty passages of Scripture related to the topic of work. It is designed to be read for one or two minutes a day over the course of 20 days, but can easily be read in one sitting as well.

Are We Still Having Church?

What a difficult week this has been. I’m sure there are many of you who are discouraged as you are seeing the reactions to Covid-19. I’m sure there are people with weak immune systems who are probably fearing for their life, while others are concerned that their grandparents aren’t social distancing enough. I’m sure there are people trying to figure out what to do with their children for the upcoming weeks while they work, while others are sad that they won’t be able to perform in their upcoming concert or play.

As many of you know, we’ve begun meeting again for “in-person church services” for a month now. And by “in-person church services” I simply mean what everyone meant when they said the words, “church services,” three months ago. We’ve been moving back to normal, with more people coming back to church as the month of May went on. We’ve restarted KidZone for our youngest age groups (pre-Kindergarten) and plan on adding more age-groups this week.

The Release of My Second Book

Last year around this time, I was able to make available to you a short book on the topic of work that I had written earlier that year. This year, I have the privilege of doing that again. Written back before COVID, but freshly printed this month, It Takes Two to Tangle is another 20-day devotional that gives us a survey of multiple Bible passages on an important topic: how to handle conflict.

Consider Giving Good News Church a Christmas Gift this Year

This is just a quick blurb to let you know how our church is doing financially. First, I’ll point out that, after a weak first quarter, giving actually increased a bit during the time period that came right after the media announcements related to Covid-19. Amazingly, during April and May, Good News actually received more money than we had received during the same time in 2019. Wow. What a blessing!
