The stewardship of our finances is a tremendous—and often overlooked—area of our lives where we can faithfully proclaim the gospel. Giving strengthens our devotion to Christ and frees us to live open-handedly with the gifts God gives us. We trust in Him and His provision instead of our perceived self-sufficiency. As people of faith, we give faithfully and generously.
At Good News Church, we feel that it is very important that we explain to you not only what we do, but also why we do it. In this article, we wanted to share with you why we do not consume all of the money that is donated to us. Instead we give away some of it, we save some of it for the future, and then we pay our expenses out of whatever is left over.
For many, I’m sure this isn’t a typical view of God. We have God, the comforter, the vengeful, the jealous, the merciful, the sacrifice, but rarely do we think of God as “the worshipper”. That is exactly what He does though.
