The vast majority of people in this country (and many other countries) are taught in science classes (usually in public schools) that the world is incredibly old, and that it got into its current condition by a very slow evolution. Once this is believed, it is very difficult to believe the account of the beginning of the world as found in the first chapter of the Bible.

In this final installment, I’d like to still make the case for why a more literal reading of Genesis 1 might make good sense. So, reason number two for not rejecting Jesus because of Genesis 1 is: There are good reasons to believe that Genesis 1 is true (in a literal sense.)

When Following Jesus Is Dangerous

I was recently reminded that the mission that Jesus gave us is, at times, dangerous. When Jesus told His disciples to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you,” he was telling them to do something that would, in some circumstances, cause them pain and suffering.
