A couple weeks ago, during the Good News church services we were taught by Ken Kebrdle from Wear Gloves, a ministry that reaches out to the distressed and homeless. On that Sunday, as I introduced Ken, I mentioned that he is a local missionary who our church supports. I Wrote a Book

I am pleased to announce the release of my first book, “Working Our Way through Life.” This book is based on the teachings that I did at church back at the beginning of 2019. It is a short devotional (only 50 pages; what an easy read!) covering twenty passages of Scripture related to the topic of work. It is designed to be read for one or two minutes a day over the course of 20 days, but can easily be read in one sitting as well.

Recently, I was having a discussion with the elders of our church about the community groups at Good News. One of them mentioned to me that it seems that there is a widespread belief at our church that you can only join a community group in August and January – if you show up in October or March, you are out of luck!
What Do Community Groups Look Like Here at Good News Church?
Here at Good News, we love Community Groups, and we love how they bring people together. We also know that most every church has something similar. They might be called Life Groups, Care Groups, Home Groups, Study Groups, Community Groups, or even Accountability Groups.

I was recently reminded of this Bible verse: "The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him." ~ Proverbs 18:17. What an important principle to remember. The less bible-y way to say this would be the phrase: “There are two sides to every story.”
