The Rewards of Serving in KidZone

One of the things I love about Good News is the opportunity to serve and the number of people who do. One of the places I love to serve is in KidZone. If you enjoy seeing God at work, if you’re looking for a place where He can work through you, take a walk over to KidZone between services.
It’s electric. You can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit the moment you walk through the door. It’s busily bustling with kids in the hallway and in the classrooms. Parents are lining up at each classroom door, waiting to check-out their little ones, greeting and chatting with each other. Sometimes moms and dads have to shuffle from one door to another to pick up one sibling, then the next. Classroom teachers and helpers are finishing up lessons, listening to memory verses or wrapping up games and projects as kids are checked out. It’s busy, in a good way.
When all the kids have been collected and the hallway is quiet, you can still feel the abiding Presence. I always get a sense that He’s pleased, even when I feel like it didn’t go as I’d hoped. In every classroom and at the welcome desk, He was worshipped and honored. Everyone who came to serve—to be used by Him—planted seeds in little hearts and spirits that we pray will be watered and grow as each one of those kids matures into the people He made them to be.
Come get a taste of the joy of being part of that. Walk inside the classrooms to see the wall of pictures that we use each week as part of the lesson that Jenny prepares. Get up close. Look at what the kids are hearing and talking about week after week as we teach through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation over three years.
One more thing: Shoutout to the parents and teachers of the kids who regularly attend Good News. Many, if not most, of them come to KidZone with a strong foundation of Scripture. We have the joy of building on that on Sunday mornings.
Ask Jenny if you can come be in one of the classrooms to see firsthand what the Lord is doing. Maybe He’s inviting you to be part of this ministry
“We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. For he issued his laws to Jacob; he gave his instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, so the next generation might know them— even the children not yet born— and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.”
