We have good news to share! The search for the next pastor at Good News Church is complete. We are hiring Doug Davison to be our next associate pastor! One of the many reasons we are excited about Doug coming on staff at Good News is that he is a “known commodity” here in Ocala. Though I personally didn’t know him before this pastor search process, it turns out that many of you did. Doug is a well-respected Christian here in our city who is currently the pastor of The Journey Church, and before that was the Dean of Students at Redeemer Christian School. Doug has been married for 30 years to his wife Cherie, and they have 8 children.
Doug announced the news to his congregation earlier today. Unlike previous times that we’ve hired people, we realized this time (because he lives in our town and many of you know him) we needed to make the announcement to you very soon after he made the announcement to his own church, or else you might hear about it through the grapevine.
He will be wrapping up his final weeks at The Journey Church and plans to begin his role working with us sometime around the beginning of February. We are thrilled that he is coming to “partner in the gospel” with us!
