KidZone Is Expanding!

March 10, 2013 Mario Villella

Because Good News is now going to two services, KidZone will be doubling too! And, while we are making changes, we are going to adjust one of our nurseries (ToddlerZone) to include one more age group, and our children’s classes (PrimaryZone) to include two more age groups. So, here is the new way that we will be breaking down our children’s ministry:

  • BabyZone: For kids from birth until walking. Meets for the duration of the service.
  • ToddlerZone: For kids from walking until 3 years old. Meets for the duration of the service.
  • Lower PrimaryZone: For kids PreK – 1st Grade. Meets during the sermon time only.
  • Upper PrimaryZone: For kids 2nd Grade – 5th Grade. Meets during the sermon time only.
This means that 3–year–olds (who were previously with their parents during the singing time) can now be in the nursery for the whole service. This also means that 4th and 5th graders (who were previously with their parents during the sermon time) can now be a part of KidZone.

These KidZone changes are going to be effective immediately. That is, we will be implementing this at the same time that we go to two services – this upcoming Sunday, March 17. We are excited to expand the ages that we are working with to better serve the parents and children who come to our church services. We hope you are excited too!

Note to Parents: If you prefer for your 3–year–old to be with you during the singing time, or for your 4th or 5th grader to sit and listen to the sermons, that is fine with us. We are certainly not saying that you must use the classes provided. We are simply saying that they are now available to you if you want to use them. We believe that you, the parents, need to make the final decision on what is best for the spiritual life of your child.
