A Story From One Of The Missions We Support

Mission India is one of several organizations that Good News Church supports. Here is a story that they sent us earlier this year. It came in the mail from the president of the organization, Todd Van Ek:

"The survival of Haji's family depends on the fish he catches. His wife helps sell the fish in the village market, but they are very poor. 50-year old Haji worshipped in a [Hindu] temple, but his wife is a Christian believer. She brought up their children to know the Lord. One of their daughters, Jeslina, trained as a Mission India Church Planter. She shared the Gospel in her community... and her heart was burdened for her father. She knew he did not believe in Jesus. And he refused to listen to the Gospel.

Jeslina prayed for the Lord to open her father's heart. Then, Haji had a bad day. He had not caught any fish. As Jeslina gently shared the Gospel message, her father began to cry - something she'd never seen him do. Later that day, Haji received Jesus as his personal Savior. Today, Haji attends church with his family. Even though the other fishermen ridicule him for his faith in Christ, Haji shares about Jesus with them and prays for them.

With support like yours, Jeslina was trained - and led her father to faith in Christ. Now, thanks to the training she received, Jeslina has the skills and confidence to continue to share about Jesus and plant churches. India is the most unreached nation in the world. Thank you for stepping out in faith to introduce more people like Haji to Jesus."

I figured that I should occasionally let you all know that while the majority of the money that is donated to Good News Church is used for our own church's individual mission, we also support other missions locally and around the world like this one.
